Bangkok Cuisine began with a dream.
In 1971, Somnuk and Montree Arpachinda arrived in Michigan from Thailand with a vision to share authentic Thai flavors with their new community. At a time when Thai food was still unfamiliar to many, they worked tirelessly to introduce the rich traditions, bold spices, and warm hospitality of Thai culture.
In 1983, they opened their first Bangkok Cuisine restaurant — helping shape the Thai dining scene across Metro Detroit and building a legacy that continues today.
More than 40 years later, Bangkok Cuisine remains proudly family-owned. Every dish is prepared with care, fresh ingredients, and customizable spice levels — staying true to the authentic flavors that started it all.
